Reporting on the Second Day of the World Science Forum
On the second day of the World Science Forum, Thursday, the focus was on the collaboration between the scientific community and policymakers. The day began with a plenary session addressing global scientific challenges and sustainability issues. Tamás Freund, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, emphasized the importance of scientific advice in political decision-making, particularly in the areas of climate change and technological development.
Morning sessions included debates on the relationship between artificial intelligence and ethics, as well as new models for funding scientific research. Xing Qu, Deputy Director-General of UNESCO, highlighted the necessity of international cooperation in the widespread application of scientific results.
In the afternoon, participants attended various thematic sessions focusing on scientific communication and shaping public opinion, as well as the future of scientific education. Sir Peter Gluckman, President of the International Science Council, spoke about the importance of maintaining scientific integrity.
